Zenhaven Mattress Review
Saatva’s mattresses are top notch. The Zenhaven Latex mattress, their latest offering, is one that you would expect from such a brand. It is an all natural 100% Talalay latex mattress that performs as well as any mattresses out there that boasts similar materials but at ridiculously high price points.
Latex is, arguably, the best type of material to use on a mattress and if it is 100% natural, even better. The Zenhaven mattress, having 100% latex, is one of the best mattresses that we have tested out there and we highly recommend it, especially since it is very reasonably priced at $1899 for the Queen. The may seem high at first glance but if you do some research, you will find that mattresses that have similar build quality as the Zenhaven starts at around $4000.

Mattress Build
The Zenhaven mattress is constructed using 100% natural latex using the Talalay method of processing. It is an all latex mattress from top to bottom, no chemical based foam used, only natural materials.
The mattress has a 10″ profile comprised of 4 latex layers and a layer of organic wool. It has dual firmness options, either relaxed plush(medium) or gentle firm.
There are two comfort layers, a 1.5″ gentle firm talalay latex and another 1.5″ relaxed plush talalay latex. There are also two support layers, both are 3 inches of supportive latex. Organic New Zealand wool is used in the flame retardant layer and it also keeps the mattress in form. The cover used is knitted organic cotton.
Natural latex is better than synthetic and blended latex in every area of importance. As noted in our latex mattress reviews, natural latex is better in durability, support, comfort and longevity. It is also naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites, mold and microbes.
Mattresses made with natural latex can last up to 30 years and even longer with proper care. The only downside is that it may cause allergic reactions but this is very rare and will only happen if you are one of the very few who are allergic to latex.
Zenhaven Mattress Price
All natural latex mattresses are very expensive and if you look around at your local mattress stores or even online, you will see that they usually start at around $4000. The Zenhaven mattress is priced at $1899 for the Queen. This is basically a steal at less than half of the usual price of this type of mattress. Yes, it is still quite pricey but with the quality of materials used, this is very reasonable and we highly recommend it if you want a latex mattress.

You also have the option of buying a frame and/or foundation with your Zenhaven mattress. Another option is purchasing an adjustable base, specifically, the Saatva Lineal Adjustable Base, if you want the best sleeping experience that Saatva has to offer. Performance
- Comfort and Support
Zenhaven provides two choices for you when it comes to firmness level. You can sleep on either the gentle firm side or the relaxed plush side. The relaxed plush is a bit like a “medium” while the gentle firm is exactly as its called, firm but gentle. The gentle firm is recommended for people that sleep mostly on their back or on their stomach while the relaxed plush is for those that sleep mostly on their sides or if they change positions as they sleep.
Latex can contour to your body’s shape, helping reduce pressure points and let you relax. This is a bit similar to memory foam but unlike in a memory foam, you will not sink in too deep, allowing for easier movement, e.g., getting in and out of bed. The Zenhaven mattress is very comfortable to sleep on.
As for support, it is exceptional. A latex support layer really does make a difference as opposed to standard foam. It allows you to maintain good body posture and spine alignment while you sleep, thus, eliminating possible aches and pain when you wake up.
- Will it get Hot?
Breathable latex and latex in general is better with cooling as opposed to memory foam. The open cell structure of the latex used in the Zenhaven mattress provides excellent cooling and it allows air to flow while you sleep. The result is a cool and very comfortable sleep without night sweats.
- Motion Isolation
Motion isolation is excellent and pretty much non existent. Latex mattresses are very similar to memory foams in this regard. Latex can isolate movement from one side so that the person sleeping on the other side will not be disturbed.
- Off Gassing
Since this is a latex mattress, there are no volatile organic compounds so no off-gassing. Also, this mattress does not come vacuum sealed in the box so there is no chance of off-gassing.
- Is it Noisy?
Latex mattresses do not produce any noise while you sleep so you don’t have to worry about it.
Durability and Warranty
Latex is the best type of material when it comes to durability and longevity. The Zenhaven mattress has an estimated 20 years of life with normal usage and it can even be longer provided that the user takes good care of the mattress. Moreover, Saatva has been in the mattress industry long enough to garner a very positive reputation with regards to their mattresses so we expect that the Zenhaven will be of excellent quality.
The warranty for the Zenhaven mattress is 20 years and we really like the options for the customer if they ever need to claim warranty. In the first 2 years, if the mattress is found to be defective, it will be replaced without any cost to you. After 2 years, it will be repaired and you only have to pay for the transportation cost.

120 Days, No Penalty, Home Trial
One of the things that you need to do when you buy a mattress is to try it first because it is an expensive purchase. An online exclusive mattress store is clearly at a disadvantage here because there is no way for you to see and test the mattress first.
However, the best online only mattress stores now offer X amount of days for you to try your mattress at home and you can then decide if it is right for you or not at very minimal costs and sometimes for free.
For the Zenhaven mattress, you can try the it for a period of 120 days from the day you receive your mattress. You can also talk with support if you are not satisfied with the comfort level and want to try the other firmness level. They will send a team to flip the mattress for you so you don’t have to do it yourself.
If you are not satisfied with the mattress within 120 days, you can talk to support and return the mattress for a full refund. The only cost is the transportation, which is $99.
Delivery
Delivery is free and the delivery team will set-up the mattress for you, including the removal of your old mattress if you wish so. When your mattress is ready, you will receive a call from support to schedule the delivery date. Also, 1 day from the day of delivery you will again receive a call to schedule the 4 hour delivery window.
If the delivery team is going to be late, you will be notified and you can either wait for them, reschedule the delivery at no additional cost or ask for a full refund.
If you are not at home or there is no one to receive the mattress at the designated delivery place and time, the mattress will be returned and you will be notified for rescheduling, additional transportation cost will have to be paid, or you can cancel the order and get a full refund less the transportation cost of $99.
