Mattress Design
The Aviya mattress has a very traditional innerspring design. It has an overall thickness of 12 inches and it is available in three different firmness levels: firm, luxury firm and soft/plush.
The comfort layer of the Aviya mattress has 3 layers of high density foam and each one of them are there to enhance your sleeping experience. The topmost layer is a quilted 1″ high density foam and it will provide you with the initial “feel” of the mattress, allowing you to start relaxing. It also helps in cooling so that you won’t sleep hot.
The 2nd layer is an anti-sag high density foam layer and it prevents, as you guessed it, sagging. The 3rd layer is also made of high density foam and this one gives you additional support, specifically in the lumbar area for better posture while you sleep.
The support layer of the mattress is comprised of an individually wrapped coil system. An individually wrapped coil system is the best out of the different coil systems when it comes to providing support, additional comfort, motion isolation and reliability. The queen sized model has 800 individually wrapped coils and that number increases/decreases with different sizes. They are all 15 gauge coils regardless of the size of the mattress.
The edge support of the mattress allows you to sleep from edge to edge due to the thick 3″ edge foams that they use. This wider sleep area is great for couples as they can sleep from edge to edge without rolling off the mattress.

Performance
- Comfort and Support
The comfort layer of the Aviya mattress is very comfortable and responsive. The 3 layers of high density foam perform very well in this regard as long as you choose the firmness level that you prefer. - Is it Hot?
The mattress does not sleep hot mainly due to it being an innerspring mattress. Innerspring mattresses generally sleep cooler than all foam mattresses and the Aviya mattress is no exception.
- Motion Isolation
Motion isolation is very good, meaning, you won’t be disturbed even if your partner moves a lot. The individually wrapped coil system has coils that are independent of each other so when there is movement, other coils are not affected.
- Off Gassing
Off gassing is not a major issue because it does not come delivered vacuum sealed in a box. There is, however, a new mattress smell that will linger for a few days but will eventually disappear. A good way to make it disappear faster is through proper ventilation for the first few days. The smell is non toxic and will not cause any health issues, it is just annoying at worst.

The quality of the springs in the Aviya mattress is very good and it will not produce noise even when you move around while you sleep.
